Synopsis
This show seeks to analyse the state of Portuguese forests, document the situation experienced by people and forests consumed by fires in recent years, as well as in other southern European countries, and understand this reality in a comparative way.
Do forests in southern Europe burn in the same way? How are they managed in Portugal and the rest of Europe? What can be done to protect and diversify Portuguese forests? This show analyses, in particular, the fires that hit Portugal in 2017, a year in which 500,000 hectares burned and more than 100 people died: specifically, on 17 June and 15 October, in Pedrógão Grande and other areas in the centre of the country.
