Synopsis

Portela 2037 focuses on the controversy surrounding the location of Lisbon’s new airport, where we know nothing about what will be built in place of the current one. Building on this, Portela 2037 is a performance that brings together environmental activists, urban management and planning experts, scientists, artists and local residents to discuss the future of the site where Lisbon Airport is currently situated. It is a performance in which the audience walks along various routes around the airport, listening to the stories, problems and concerns of the people living in those areas, and learning about the different scenarios for the future of that place.
