Synopsis

This project is a performance-video that celebrates the 25th of April through the stories of people who fought and resisted against the Portuguese dictatorship and Portuguese colonialism, focusing on love and the relationships that were born within the anti-fascist fight, analysing how those same relationships were able to survive the persecution carried out by the Portuguese government and, at the same time, to be the ground for that same political fight. This is a work based on documental theatre research, using real testimonies to reflect on this period of Portuguese recent history while crossing theatre, dance, and music. The resistance to this dictatorship is approached on various levels and gathers the testimonies of people who were fighting underground, people who were part of the liberation movements from former Portuguese colonies, people who were fighting from the exile.
